I turned fifty a short time ago. I am married to a wonderful (and very patient) man, we have been together for twenty nine years, we have three incredible children, although they are children no more at nearly 23, 19 and 17. Two sons and a daughter, they are all still at home, thank goodness, I dread having an empty nest. I love my family more than anything.
I have done many things over the years, I started my working life as an animal carer/nurse in a veterinary practice, I then moved onto people (not nearly so cute) and trained as a nurse. After four years practise as a registered nurse I trained to become a midwife which I did for 21years (a break in the middle to reproduce myself). I am a reflexologist, I have been a motivator/mentor/weight loss consultant (won lots of awards for that!), I’m also a photographer. I now work for the largest hair loss company in the southern hemisphere. I love art and music, writing and my camera! I have six tattoos, two recently for my fiftieth birthday, I also have ten piercings. I used to be a natural redhead but sadly not any longer, if I left my hair ‘au naturel’ it would be pure white! I am not brave enough, so I remain chemically enhanced and love that I can be any colour I want, currently I am bright red! I wear ‘Mediterranean’ perfume (Elizabeth Arden) or Chanel No5.
I am passionate about so many things as I suspect you will find out as this year of writing goes on.
I am a complete novice at this ‘blogging’ thing but have started as my friends want to keep up with my adventures! I apologise in advance for poor grammar as a write how I speak.
Over the next year I hope to do fifty things that I have never done before. I am going to keep this online diary as a record, plus there will be the day to day ramblings, menopausal musings as I like to think of them. Please don’t get too excited about following my blog, it’s not like I will be climbing mountains or anything like that as my new experiences, I plan on learning how to make perfect Macaroons for example! LOL. Anyway that is enough about me, onwards and upwards as they say
