When you have weight concerns every single day is a challenge, every single day you make a zillion food choices, gazillions of them, should I have a biscuit with tea, can I walk past the burger joint even though it smells so good, one lick, one bite, one chip?
The bottom line is it is YOUR choice, no one else makes it for you it is your choice.
Last night I prepared dinner and my family all sat down to big fat baked potatoes, a big crunchy salad and chicken kiev, not your nasty boxed up chicken ‘shaped’ kiev either, proper chicken kiev, identifiable as a real chicken, complete with bones! Oh the smell, how I love chicken kiev but my day was already pre-planned for me and although I could have balanced my propoints and had a chicken kiev I made a decision, a choice that it wasn’t worth the points while I am on a loss journey, maintenance is a different story but while I am losing I do not need the added unhealthy fats. And so… I had a small baked potato, a huge crunchy salad and a small chicken breast that had been marinaded in lemon juice, herbs and garlic. Nice? Yes it was but let me tell you, chicken kiev it was not!
The point to this blog is to ask the question ‘how much do you want this’?
Planning is an essential part of our journey. There is a saying “by failing to plan you are planning to fail”? It is very clear that when we take control of our eating, when we plan ahead what we will have, when we know how we are spending our propoints beforehand, we will increase our chances of success.
We need to make sure that we do not allow ourselves to get into a “food rut” having the same things day in and day out, boredom contributes to failure. We have to include variety and taste, experiment and enjoy our food to maximize our weight loss success. So again I ask the question;
‘how much do you want this’?
What have you planned for this weeks meals??
